Try something new!
Every year during high school, I have tried a
new sport or other extracurricular activity at SSSAS. This year, I decided to join the swim
team. Although I have not been part of a
swim team since I was a little kid, I enjoyed getting back into the water! Practices have been hard, but fun. This week we had our first two meets against
Flint Hill and St. Albans/National Cathedral.
The boys’ team beat Flint Hill in our first meet, and several male and
female swimmers posted times good enough to qualify for states. Obviously, winning is great, but I also enjoy
hanging out with people I do not usually see in my classes.One of the greatest things
about SSSAS is that the school offers so many opportunities to get involved and
meet other students. There is truly
something for everyone: sports, dramatic
and visual arts, music, clubs, leadership opportunities, etc. So get out there and try something new!
